I used to think the quickest way to farm was simply to finish the objective and move on to the next mission. That works for certain rewards, but it is not ideal when I need XP, Requisition Slips, and Samples together. Helldivers 2 rewards players who are willing to spend some time exploring, especially on larger maps with several Points of Interest.
For a Helldivers 2 Items farming session, I would rather choose a mission that lets me collect several types of rewards during one dive. Eradicate missions can be useful for fast XP and Requisition, but they do not provide the Sample opportunities I need. That makes Difficulty 6 or above a more interesting option for mixed farming.
Start With the Right Difficulty
Difficulty 6, or Suicide Mission, is a useful point to start when the squad wants a combination of rewards. It provides stronger XP and Requisition multipliers than easier missions and is also where Super Samples become available.
I would not automatically jump to the highest difficulty just because the rewards are better. If the team spends most of the mission fighting and rarely reaches POIs, the theoretical reward increase does not necessarily translate into a better farming session.
A comfortable difficulty where the squad can complete objectives and explore consistently can be more useful.
Use Objectives as Your Route
Blitz and other objective-focused missions give the team a natural route across the map. Instead of running directly from one objective to another, I like to check nearby POIs whenever they are reasonably close.
Launch ICBM and Purge Hatcheries are examples of missions where the main objective can be combined with exploration. Enemy outposts, nests, secondary objectives, and caches can add extra value to the same trip.
The important part is knowing when to stop exploring. If the area becomes crowded with enemies or the mission clock is becoming a concern, I would rather move toward extraction than risk losing everything for one more pickup.
Work as a Team
Resource farming becomes much smoother when everyone has a job. Two players can focus on the main objective while another player checks nearby locations. Alternatively, the squad can split into two pairs and clear different sections of the map.
A fast player using suitable mobility equipment can be especially useful for checking distant POIs. However, communication matters. Everyone should know where the others are and when the squad plans to regroup.
There is no need to split up when the enemy situation is dangerous. Staying together can prevent unnecessary deaths and make difficult fights much easier.
Focus on Mobility
The UAV Recon Booster can help the squad identify more of the map and locate POIs without wandering aimlessly. I also like light armor for exploration because moving quickly between locations can save more time than carrying additional protection in situations where mobility is more important.
The Jump Pack is useful on maps with cliffs and awkward terrain. It can shorten routes and help escape enemies when a normal retreat would be slower.
An explosive secondary weapon can also help with sealed containers at POIs. Opening these locations without spending a major Stratagem keeps more powerful tools available for actual combat.
Treat Samples Differently
XP and Requisition rewards do not need to be carried to extraction in the same way Samples do. That distinction changes how I approach the end of a mission.
Samples need to physically make it to extraction, so I pay more attention to where they are during a long run. If I pass the extraction point before finishing the map, dropping Samples there can create a useful safety measure.
The squad can later return for them. This is particularly helpful when the map is large and the team expects to spend several more minutes exploring.
Make Exploration Pay Off
The goal is not to clear every square meter of the map. It is to find a good rhythm between objectives, POIs, combat, and extraction. A squad that spends too much time searching can create unnecessary risks, while a squad that ignores the map leaves useful rewards behind.
For players looking for cheap Helldivers 2 Medals, efficient mission planning can be part of a broader progression routine rather than relying on one repetitive farming method. The same principle applies to every resource run: use the mission structure to collect several rewards while keeping the extraction plan in mind.
